Hillary please do go gently into that good night

In November the Democratic Party has a wonderful chance to bring about a huge change in American politics. In spite of all the hype, beating John McCain will be a cake walk. He represents everything the majority of the American people have been against in every poll taken in the last few years. He is a rerun of the Bush adminsitration and a war monger with a terrible temper. The only thing that can bring McCain a victory is for the Democratic Party to choose a nominee that is only a shade different than McCain on the war.

You voted for the war Hillary. In spite of your back tracking, we all remember that, and now you're running around talking about attacking Iran---and with nuclear bombs yet! Yes, you said that yesterday and also suggested other countries in the Middle East might also respond to an attack on Israel in kind. What countries are you suggesting should get "the bomb", Hillary? Saudia Arabia?

Your thoughts and ideas and plans cannot possibility hold up against McCain's. It's time to get out now Hillary. If you don't win PA by at least 15 points, you've proved that you can't win, even in a state that was (up until a few months ago) touted as yours on a silver platter.

You're out of money, and you're ruthless negative style of latching onto irrelevant slime is damaging the party. You saw how little all your pumping up of Rev. Wright and Ayers and other off-issues affected the polls. Yet, you just kept on going, going, going.

To get out now, Hillary, would be noble, To hang in there just to satisfy your ego is folly. You know once you are out of it, the party and the whole country will get behind Obama.

Please do go gently into that good night Hillary. Please! It's way past time. Let's get on with the process of defeating the Republicans in November.

You forget that roughly half of Democratic voters prefer Hillary. You sort of dismiss those folks (who I assume you want to support Obama if he's the nominee) every time you tell them Hillary should quite NOW.

It's not like she's some marginal candidate hanging on when she's only getting 10% of the vote.

I agree that Obama will probably be the nominee. But it's up to Hillary and her supporters to decide when she's ready to quit. Chill, already.

Normally I wouold agree with you. Candidates should decide when they should quit, but the damage Hillary is doing to the chances for us to elect a president I feel has an enormous chance to turn this country away from politics as usual and to end some of the tiresome infighting is maddening.

She is doing the work of the Republican party at this point.

Hillary won't be elected even if she is the nominee. She has offended huge segments of the Democratic Party. There were already many people who hated Hillary. I was not one of them, but now I understand why they sport bumper stickers saying, "Anyone but Hillary".

I don't doubt her original intention was to help people, but I suspect she is now driven like McCain to do anything to get elected. Quitting now would at least make her viable in the future.

No she's not marginal, but she has only a very, very marginal chance of winning. Why destroy the one candidate who really might unite the electorate against John McCain?

You, "chill".

That expression is becoming a little shop worn, don't you think? It's a media finger-flip, a condescending sound byte, and therefore meaningless.

I'm proud of my passions, I never put them on ice.

You're right"Anonymous". It's up to Hillary and her groupies to decide to bow out.

And the fact that they haven't, given the fact that a pledged delegate victory for Hillary is mathematically impossible, shows me just how much disdain they have for the party and winning in November.

There comes a time when duty must come before self. Too bad Bosnia Betty and her worshipers embrace the latter and reject the former.

And BTW...the "roughly half" you mention, a large portion of those "Dems" are Republican crossovers.
